The Cameroon Association of Medical Informatics (SOCIM, by its French acronym) was created on November 14th of 2007 in Yaoundé. This association was born with the aim of gathering the efforts from all the stakeholders who are contributing on the development of the Medical Informatics field in Cameroon.
SOCIM arranges the Cameroon Days of Medical Informatics (JCIM) each two years to share all the Medical Informatics experiences being implemented across the country.
Prof. Víctor Maojo, the AFRICA BUILD Coordinator, was invited to present the efforts of AFRICA BUILD at the 4th Edition of JCIM. This symposium was carried out at the University of Yaounde I, concretely at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences during November 26th.
This edition mainly treated two different topics, (1) eLearning and Research in Health and (2) Hospital Information Systems. Several initiatives were presented and discussed by both experts in the field and students of the University of Yaounde I.
