TriNetX is a platform to enable the trustworthy re-use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) data for clinical research, evolution in Eurepo from the InSite Platform. The collaboration between clinicians and researchers is facilitated, aiming to maximise the output of clinical research through new technology.
TriNetX offers an integrated view of heterogeneous clinical data sources through easy to use applications.

In participating hospitals, TriNetX connects the hospital data sources to a local node, which connects to the central TriNetX platform. This node integrates data, provides support to the platform operations and serves several applications for local use within the hospital, data analytics and publication support.

The TriNetX platform adheres to the “privacy and security by design and default” principle. The distributed analytics technology ensures that patient data never leaves the protected environment of a hospital and remains at all times under local control, while still providing meaningful answers to research questions. The TriNetX platform has been certified by an independent organisation that ensures compliance to the highest data protection standard.

Researchers can use the TriNetX services for trial design, study placement, recruitment tracking, etc.

Clinicians can use TriNetX within their hospital to support their trials or deep dive into their data.

The TriNetX platform is the largest global clinical research network supported by the majority of pharma companies. The Biomedical Informatics Group of the UPM is a research partner of TriNetX, mainly focused on solutions for data model and terminology integration with clinical information systems.
