GIB has used ontologies in many topics such as: ontology-based data integration, data cleaning and mining, clinical-genomic trials, etc. 

 GIB created an original method for automatically detecting and extracting infectious disease-related primer and probe sequences from scientific papers.

Using morphological techniques, the GIB have been investigating interpolation methods in ways that preserve and impose restrictions.

GIB has developed high-throughput techniques that have led to personalized medicine opportunities such as personalized diagnoses, therapies and drugs.
